General
Rules
Note: All International Triathlon Union (ITU) rules will
apply.
SWIM:
1. All swimmers must
wear the swim cap provided by the race.
2. The swim course will be closed 1 hour after the
start of the race. Participants still in the water after
this time will be disqualified and will not be permitted
to continue in the event.
3. We will notify on race day if wetsuits are permitted.
4.
Self-seed yourself in the water. Let the fast swimmer leave
before you. A wait of 30 seconds will assure you plenty
of room. What's 30 seconds when you're racing for
2.5 - 4hrs?
BIKE:
1. There is no warming
up on the bike before the race.
2.
You may not ride your bike in the transition area.
3.
There will be a repair station on the course. You may not
have any other help in repairing a mechanical problem on
your bike other than our official repair mechanics.
4. If you need repairs to your bicycle during the
race, you can stop at the bike repair tent located just
past the hair pin turn, or you can ask one of the motorcycle
outriders to bring a bike mechanic to you on the course.
AT NO TIME, and for no reason, may your bike be transported
by someone else.
5. When you enter the bike course move gradually to
the inside of the Circuit. As you complete your 9th lap
and are preparing to exit the bike course, make sure you
are on the right side of the course, well in advance of
the exit so that you do not have to cross other cyclists.

| RUN:
1. You must wear your race number
on the front during the run. You may not fold or bend your
number in any way.
2.
A shirt must be worn at all times during the bike and run
segments.
GENERAL RULES:
1. Course marshals shall have
the authority to disqualify participants.
2. Medical personnel shall have the ultimate and final
authority to remove a participant from the race if they
judge the participant to be physically incapable of continuing
the race without risk of serious injury. Medical transport
of any participant will result in disqualification.
3. Good sportsmanship is demanded from all participants.
Any unsportsmanlike behaviour is grounds for disqualification.
4.
A 'Thank You' to volunteers will go a long way in showing
them how much we appreciate their generous contribution
to the race.
5. If you withdraw from the race at any time, please
notify an official with a walkie-talkie. For your own safety
and our peace of mind, it is essential that we know where
you are on the course at all times. |
