| BIKE:
1- There is no warming up on your
bike before the race.
2- You may not ride your bike in the transition area.
3- This is a busy day on the Circuit as Esprit participants
share the road with triathletes competing in the Demi Esprit
(Half Ironman), Olympic and Sprint Distances races.
4 - There is NO DRAFTING allowed on the bike course.
5 - You must have your bike number on the bike frame as
close as possible to the handle bars.
6
- There will be a bike repair station on the course.
You may not have any other help in repairing a mechanical
problem on your bike other than our official repair mechanics.
7 - If you need repairs to your bicycle during the race,
you can stop at the bike repair tent located just past the
hair pin turn, or you can ask one of the motorcycle outriders
to bring a bike mechanic to you on the course. AT NO TIME,
and for no reason, may your bike be transported by someone
else.
8 - When you enter the bike course move gradually to the
inside of the Circuit. As you complete your 41st lap and
are preparing to exit the bike course, make sure you are
on the right side of the course, well in advance of the
exit so that you do not have to cross other cyclists.
9-
The bike course will be closed 10 hours after the start
of the race. Cyclists still on the course after 17:00 will
be disqualified and will not be permitted to continue in
the event.
MARATHON:
1- You must wear your race number
on the front during the marathon. You may not fold or bend
your number in any way.
2-
Although an ITU rule prohibits non-participants on the run
course, after the 12 hour mark we will permit one non-participant
runner with anyone who wishes this assistance. However,
why not make new friends on the course and help each other
finish?
3-
You will receive a wristband on your 9th lap. WEAR IT!
4-
The course will be closed after 17 hours from the start
of the race. At 24:00 any remaining participants on the
course will be disqualified.
5-
A shirt must be worn at all times during the bike
and run segments. |
